Population aging, and the urban population outnumbering the rural population can be defined as the most important demographic changes of the 21st century. The world population is increasingly living in cities and aging is one of the demographic trends in countries with developed economies. Increased urban population and population aging is becoming one of the main agendas of urban policies and problems that are closely related to those living in the city, such as climate change, inequalities, social exclusion, spatial and social segregation, bring much deeper and more widespread negative consequences for older persons. In this session, urban policies for older people, who are left in the most disadvantaged position during the pandemic, will be discussed and what should be done for livable cities for older people will be analyzed.
