Yanis Ben Amor
Dr., Executive Director, Center for Sustainable Development, Columbia University
Professor Ben Amor is the Executive Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University. He is the co-founder of REACH (Refugees Act and Communicate for Health), a program designed to provide health information and health access to refugees, migrants and local youth in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. Prof. Ben Amor has close to two decades of worldwide research experience in digital health, and infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and COVID-19. He was involved in many projects conducting research on new diagnostic tests for tuberculosis as well as improving quality of care and access to tuberculosis treatment for patients in developing countries and has previously worked for several organizations such as the Pasteur Institute (Paris, France). Prof. Ben Amor has a PhD in Molecular Biology. He has published widely in the areas of tuberculosis diagnosis, global health, digital health and COVID-19 prevention. He is also regularly a speaker on behalf of Columbia University at various conferences worldwide.
