Mürsel Sabancı

President, Union of Citizens' Assemblies of Turkey & Balıkesir Citizens' Assembly

Born in 1966, Sabancı has his undergraduate degree at Marmara University Faculty of Health Education, and master's degree at Ankara University Health Sciences Institute. He worked as a Health Education Specialist at the Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Health Education and Health Vocational High Schools. He worked as a lecturer at Balıkesir and Muğla University Health Schools. After working as the Department Head of Strategy and R&D in Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of National Education, he served as the Deputy Mayor of Karesi Municipality in charge of Administrative and Social Affairs between 2014 and 2019. Sabancı served as the Karesi City Council President and Executive Board Member of the Union of Turkish City Councils between 2015-2019 and was appointed as the Deputy Secretary General of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality in 2019. He currently serves as the Deputy Secretary General as well as the Term Chairman of the Union of Turkish City Councils and the Chairman of the Balıkesir City Council.
