After the COVID-19 pandemic breakout, health, telecommunication and logistics infrastructure of cities and regions have started to gain importance. However, global uncertainties force all sectors to dramatically rethink their land use and socio-environmental impacts. The resilience of cities in the face of climate change, disasters and environmental threats is mostly related to the resilience of infrastructure on a regional scale, and sustainability becomes meaningful with circular economic transformation. The lesson being learned from the pandemic, floods and fires is that issues such as “human infrastructure”, “human capital” and knowledge of “history of infrastructure" should be compatible with nature matters. The panel will bring holistic and circular perspectives respectively while rethinking infrastructure in 21st century.
