Derya Adıgüzel Özbek

Dr., Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Istanbul Kültür University

Derya Adıgüzel Özbek completed her undergraduate education in Istanbul Technical University, Interior Architecture Department with third place and high honor degrees in 2009, her master's degree in Kadir Has University, Design Master's Program in 2011, and her doctorate in Istanbul Kültür University, Architecture Doctorate Program in 2016. In 2015, she continued her doctoral studies in Architectural Theory and Design research in Ku Leuven Sint-Lucas Gent with an Erasmus+ PhD researcher scholarship. She participated in Istanbul Design Week 2009 with the Turkish Delight Lighting Collection and the Harem Chandelier she designed within Phare Design. She and Türkan Harmanbaşı made it to the finals in the smart furniture category of the 6th National Furniture Design Competition with their design “iwish”. She was the director of the research project “How “Life Fits Into Home (Hayat Eve Sığar)” Will Transform the House, Housing Design Strategies for the COVID-19 Process and Afterward”, supported within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 1001-COVID-19 call. She continues her academic studies at the national and international level in the fields of interior design, interior design education, body-space relationship, phenomenology and space.
