Community knows better: Innovative ways of space and policy design

Design processes on inclusive, fairer, sustainable and accessible urban spaces, by its nature, use interaction-oriented and participatory research methods. A lasting social impact on urban planning processes is only possible with a process and actors that act with the understanding of collective production by prioritizing the knowledge and needs of the local. This session will be comprised of presentations of groups who aim at touching urban issues through placemaking and policymaking by focusing on civil participation, interdisciplinary research practices and local communities.
