The change of public life in urban spaces is one of the main factors that affect the daily life of urban communities. The increase in new urban technologies and smart city projects along with issues such as climate change, disasters and crises are transforming public life in urban spaces. The questions of how to connect privacy and security, how to overcome dilemmas, and how to create sustainable public space on the basis of privacy are of great importance in this transformation process. In this session, the fine line between privacy and security will be discussed in the context of public life in urban spaces.
