Reporting for Climate Change
01.10.2021 14:30 - 16:00 | Room 8 | TRAINING
Cities have a crucial role to play in the fight against climate change, consuming over two-thirds of the world's energy and accounting for more than 70% of global CO2 emissions. In this training session, CDP will introduce the importance of data driven decision making for city-level climate action. We will discuss the benefits of environmental and climate disclosure and how you can get started with reporting your data through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. Reporting through the CDP platform is cost-free and allows you to: collect all of your city’s environmental data in one place; participate in workshops and webinars to help you improve your city’s climate action efforts; and to learn from other cities in Turkey and over 1000 cities worldwide that already report to CDP-ICLEI. In this session, CDP will be joined by speakers from WWF-Türkiye and Metropolitan Municipalities that currently disclose through CDP’s platform, who will also share their experiences of reporting and how it has been beneficial for them. The session will finish with a knowledge sharing Q&A where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about environment and climate action and reporting.
