Role of Relationships and Trust-building in Environmental Justice and Protection

Ohio State University is hosting a networking event to connect professionals across multiple sectors. Participants will develop strategies for initiating and strengthening existing partnerships. Experts will be available to give feedback and will share relevant experiences. The focus of the discussions will be applications that combine multiple stakeholders and foreground the human dimensions of engineering-based solutions, especially in regard to water access and agriculture.
The event is organized by the Middle East Studies Center and the Global Water Institute of the Ohio State University. The event will feature experts with the Global Water Institute, who works on issues of water access and water security in rural communities, particularly in East Africa. Participants will include environmental scientists, practitioners working in the field, and a variety of professionals and researchers. Learn about:
- What does it take to develop strong partnerships with local communities?
- What are the keys to engaging a broad range of stakeholders, including local and national governments, NGOs, donors, private sector actors, and universities?
- How strong relationships can be transformative with regard to water access and food security in a diverse array of communities around the world.
Participants: Representatives of local governments, universities, public sector, private sector and NGOs working in the fields of environment, water access and water security.
