Marmarathon: City for the Wild
03.10.2021 10:00 - 13:00 | Room 9 | AWARD
The dominance that human kind has established on the earth causes climatic and ecological changes that are difficult to compensate. Human-induced activities like; industrialization, improper land use, excessive consumption of resources, and policies that do not prioritize non-human components of the city expose urban habitat and wildlife to great threats. At this point, we have to put aside the approaches that keep nature separate from urban issues and seek holistic solutions. In the session titled “Marmarathon: City for the Wild”, experts from different disciplines will come together to find solutions to the wildlife and ecosystem dilemmas of today's cities. The session will start with a discussion on the subject, then continue with the presentations of the ideas developed at the Marmarathon held on September 28-29 as a part of MARUF On The GO and the jury evaluation.
